
This was a fun feast aimed at children, run and mostly cooked by Alys. The feast booklet says the dishes were “based on actual period recipes, to a point.”
COURSE THE FIRST
Dragon eggs – shaped home-baked bread, served with honey butter
Dragon tail – beef meatloaf with quail eggs through it
Dragon tail tip – chicken meatloaf, for attendees not eating red meat

Salat – green salad
Roast vanquished hero, or long pig – actually pork, with Applemoy – apple and almond sauce
Roast vegetables
Dragon scale hand pies – red – chicken and leek
– green – chicken without leek
– blue – vegie including onion
Parsnips and carrots in orange juice
Beans with rosemary
Dragon entrails – fritters of dried fruit (“haslets”)
Pear and brie pie
COURSE THE SECOND
The Dragon’s Hoard, including:
- Jam jewels – pastry and jam
- Jumbles – egg-rich knot biscuits
- Gingerbread and jellies
- “Gold coins” with new world filling
